What a joy it has been to interact with Melanie! She radiates and infuses joy into those she interacts with. I had been following Moksa’s instagram account for a while and was excited to receive an email from Melanie asking me to try some of her products. The quality of her products is so exciting and refreshing. We seem to be kindred spirits, as she is a fellow runner and former athlete. Thanks to Melanie for her generosity and correspondence!

Kona Athletic Bar

“Personally being an athlete, I wanted to create a bar of soap for my fellow athlete friends. with a mild blend of menthol and other organic cooling oils, it’s a great bar of soap for a post workout shower. and, it’s named after the ultimate destination for swimmers, cyclist and runners…  Our cool blend of organic oils cleans the sweat and grit while soothing those trained muscles. so on the road to kona, train hard, race hard, play hard, and by all means, enjoy your shower! You deserve it.

Note: please avoid contact with face and eyes. will not cause harm, but menthol is too strong for the face and eyes.

Ingredients: no palm oils! the use of palm oils is one of the world’s leading causes of deforestation.

My Description & Thoughts:

This bar had me at “Kona,” as we have a new black labrador puppy named Kona. :) In regards to the product itself, this bar is incredibly invigorating and refreshingly minty–a perfect treat for a post workout shower. The clean and impressive ingredient list makes me feel good about using this soap–the fact that it smells and feels amazing on my skin is the cherry on top. After a long run or a tough workout, this is a soap that targets the soreness that sets in, which is something that not all soaps offer. The minty and fresh aroma that it creates in the shower makes for a soothing experience post run–a pleasurable addition to my daily running ritual.

Orange Ginger Organic Body Oil

Moksa Organics’ Description:

My Description & Thoughts:

I’m become a huge fan of body oil since being enamored with organic skin care. I love how I can apply it to damp skin right out of the shower and the drops of water help spread the oil out.  This body oil smells wonderfully orangey with a zing from the ginger. It is so lovely to use right after a shower and leaves skin moisturized, nourished & smelling fresh and citrusy. My skin feels healthiest right after applying high quality body oil, like this, onto my skin.

Athlete’s Secret Body Butter

This body butter is NO JOKE! It reminds me of the homemade “icy hot” that I whip up in my household, except even more intense. I envision myself using this body butter on a daily basis pre and post workout to create an invigorating affect on my skin that will also penetrate into my muscles to sooth and relax them. Will need to restock when I use all of it!

Products like this remind me of how potent compounds in nature can be–and how powerful & effective. A little of this body butter goes a long way. I highly recommend this to runners, cyclists, endurance athletes, and all exercise enthusiasts alike. Anyone can benefit from using this body butter. What a  minty, decadent, skin treat!
